About KSMU

Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is an internationally recognized institution with over 200 years of experience in medical education, particularly in MBBS training. Currently, the university hosts approximately 700 international students from 57 countries, with nearly half of them studying in English. In addition to its global student body, KSMU also welcomes students from across Russia, including both nearby and remote regions. The university takes pride in its diverse student population and prioritizes the support and well-being of its international students.

At present, KSMU has around 5,500 students, including medical students, clinical residents, and interns. The university comprises 9 faculties and 65 departments, supported by a staff of over 1,500 professionals. For many students, choosing a university is a major life decision, and studying abroad can be particularly challenging—requiring students to navigate language barriers, cultural differences, and the emotional distance from home. Kazan State Medical University holds the distinction of being the third-oldest medical university in Russia, following those in Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is the only university in Kazan officially recognized by both the Ministry of Healthcare and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. A government-funded institution, KSMU is also recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. Additionally, it holds accreditations from several international medical councils, including ECFMG, AMC (Australia), GMC (UK), and MCI (India), among others.

➢ Original Passport with proper scan copy of front and back to be shared over email.

➢ Medical Report (mentioning your D.O.B, Passport Number, Hospital stamp & Doctor’s signature)

• HIV Report

• Chest X- Ray

➢ 6 passport size photographs should be 35mm x 45mm in Width and Height over matt paper with white background.

➢ Photographs

• Required digital photograph above shoulder in white background. It should show a close up of your face and the top of your shoulders so that your face takes up between 70% - 80% of the face.
